Style My Soul Explores …
Life wisdom which professionals would impart to their younger selves. Embrace Uncertainty and Life’s Detours One piece of guidance I’d impart to my younger self would be, “Embrace uncertainty and cherish the detours.” In my early years, I was often anxious about not having every step of my life mapped out. Over time, I’ve come to realize that many of life’s most enriching experiences, lessons, and opportunities came from those unplanned twists and turns. What seemed like setbacks or diversions often led to profound growth and unexpected joys. This realization taught me the value of resilience, adaptability, and the beauty of life’s unpredictability. It’s significant because it changed my perspective from fearing the unknown to embracing it as a realm of limitless possibilities. - Alex Stasiak, CEO and Founder, Startup House Welcome Change for Growth Change can be hard to embrace, especially when you are younger (in your early 20s). However, change can lead to some great things like personal growth, career growth, and new skills. If you are stuck in your ways and not willing to embrace change, you could find yourself stuck, both in life and your career. No one wants to feel stuck! Some easy ways that I found to embrace change when I was in my early 20s were having an open mind, being curious, networking, and always learning. By implementing some of these methods in your life as a younger person, you can embrace change and reap the benefits that come with change! Change can be scary, but once you embrace it and accept that change will happen, you can reap the benefits. - Gianni Evangelisti, Director of Business Development, Test-Guide Ignore Others’ Opinions Life is too short to care about what other people think. This one would be extreme so that my younger self might be able to hear it because it’s far from simple or easy. I heard this on multiple occasions when I was younger and believed that very thing. I grew up continuously tending to think about individuals’ thought processes, resulting in extreme social anxiety. I would constantly worry about how my voice sounded, how I came off, how I was walking, and, of course, others’ perceptions of my body. - Axel Hernborg, Founder and CEO, Tripplo Prioritize Personal Growth and Self-Care If I could share one piece of life guidance with my younger self as a real estate investor, it would be to prioritize personal growth and self-care alongside professional success. While it’s important to dedicate time and effort to building a successful real estate career, nurturing one’s physical, mental, and emotional well-being is equally vital. Taking care of oneself allows for better decision-making, increased resilience, and overall fulfillment. I would remind my younger self to balance work and personal life, invest time in hobbies, travel, and learn new things. By nurturing my personal growth, I can bring a more rounded perspective to my real estate endeavors and lead a more fulfilling and balanced life. - Chris McGuire, Real Estate Investor, Real Estate Exam Ninja Integrate Work and Personal Life I’d tell myself to let go of the idea of achieving a perfect work-life balance as an entrepreneur — it just isn’t realistic. Instead of chasing an ideal equilibrium, focus on integrating your work and personal life to create a sense of harmony. This acceptance would help me be more mindful and intentional in both arenas. You show up for your team and your business, and you also show up for your loved ones with a better sense of balance. You learn to switch gears, knowing that it’s all part of the journey. - Ewen Finser, Founder, The Digital Merchant Trust Yourself More Trust yourself more. It’s nothing overly complicated or elaborate, but it’s what I would tell my younger self. As you journey through life, you’ll encounter countless decisions and opportunities. It’s essential to have confidence in your abilities and intuition. You possess the wisdom and strength to navigate the challenges that lie ahead. While seeking advice and learning from others is crucial, don’t underestimate the power of your inner voice. Trust your instincts, make choices that align with your values and aspirations, and believe in your capacity to overcome obstacles. Self-trust is a foundation for personal growth and resilience, and it can lead you to fulfilling paths you might otherwise doubt or overlook. - Alberto Palumbi, President, Premium Toners View Failure as Growth Opportunity A valuable piece of advice to share with one’s younger self is to embrace failure as an opportunity for growth, rather than a setback. Understanding that everyone makes mistakes, and that these are crucial for personal and professional development, can lead to a more fulfilling and less stressful life. Learning to approach challenges with resilience and a positive mindset can open doors to opportunities and experiences that might otherwise be missed due to fear of failure. - Einav Biri, CEO, FARUZO
